Kitchen Inspiration

I knew when we were looking for a new home that I wanted it to feel light and airy. I really wanted a white kitchen with white cabinets and white subway tile. I was working on preparing my husband mentally for a kitchen remodel because not a single house we had looked at fit what I had in mind. When we walked into our house for the first time we knew it was the ONE! Not only did it have tons of windows and a great open living area but it had a kitchen with white cabinets and white subway tile!!! We loved so much about this house, the kitchen was just the icing on the cake. It was as if I had designed and built it myself. Our kitchen really needs to be functional, I cook a lot and we have a young daughter, so nothing can be too fancy or fragile. We love that the kitchen in our new home is in the center of everything, I cook dinner almost every night and I am excited to be able to enjoy time with the family while I'm doing it. Everything that gets added into our new kitchen will need to be functional and budget friendly.
Now that it is time to start infusing it with some personality of our own it took me no time at all to find inspiration, when I opened up my Beautiful Homes' board on Pinterest it was FULL of homes that have that light airy feel that I had in mind. Whites, creams and grays with pops of accent colors. Crisp white combined with rustic elements. Here are some of my favorites :
